Sharing the Love

So, our awesome cousins, Aaron & Teri, are due with their first baby boy in September (sound familiar??). Perfect timing - we are packing up to leave the country and need a place to keep all of Justus' cute clothes that he has outgrown, and they are having a baby boy who needs cute things to wear! Even more perfect - they are both September babies so all the sizes will be just right for the seasons. He is obviously really happy to share...but more excited to meet his new little buddy. :)

8 Months Old

Justus' favorite things to do now that he is 8 months old...
1. Read (or pull all his books off his bookshelf and pretend to read)
2. Chew on anything he can get his hands on
3. Chill in his crib
4. Again, chew on anything
5. Play with his dogs
6. Sleep in the crawling position
7. Splash in his pool
8. Crawl!
9. Cuddle

Here it is in all it's glory :) It only makes his foot look about 5x normal size!! Ha ha! Well done, Trav...I know how hard it is to get him to sit still!

Mother's Day

I got my first official Mother's Day gift from Justus...a hand-painted coffee mug (complete with sloppy hand and foot prints and all)...and I know one day I will still be drinking out of this mug, balling my eyes out, as he leaves for college or moves out of the house! He already is growing up too fast - he is his own little man, with a fun, laid-back personality, and now he that he is crawling he is even that much more independent. (By the way, I'm posting a new and improved crawling video...after posting the last one I realized he really doesn't crawl on there at all! but he definitely has the hang of it now!) I realize that Mother's Day may be just another gimmick to get people to spend money on cards and gifts, but I really don't care as long as I keep getting handmade gifts like the one I got this year (special thanks to Trav on that one). :)

Cubs and Kisses

Justus' cute mug is quickly spreading across the blog world. A few of our friends have put up posts about him in the past few days. The Heisler Highlights blog shows the danger of leaving your child alone with overly-enthusiastic Cubs fans, and the Asher William Olimb blog shows the reality of the overly-affectionate love of friends! I Get Around

Justus officially started crawling a few days ago! He isn't cruising around the house yet, but he can go a few feet at a time...then he usually rolls the rest of the way. I know that pretty soon I'm going to have my hands full, but he was so anxious to get moving that I am happy he finally can! :) (He actually only crawls about 2 feet on the video, but if you want a little glimpse into a day in the life of Justus, then here you go!)
