That was Justus' favorite line for the day! We had a great Easter...it was sunny and warm, went to church, home for lunch & naps, then headed back into town for dinner at Kevin, Chaiss & Ivy's house, along with Andrew, Kendall & Amelie. We hung out in the garden, ate some really good food, watched Justus & Ivy search for treats, played with the kiddos, ate some super yummy desserts, and just had a good time hanging out with good friends (...don't leave us, McConnells!!).
Piper was her happy, cute little self, as usual... she seemed to like her first Easter :)Justus always has fun playing with Ivy and Amelie, especially if those little plastic colored balls are involved! He loves those things!!Jessica's sweet friends :) And look how beautiful the table was...nice going, Chaiss! We each had our own personalized chocolate bars, and she even gave us some roses to take home. The table of desserts! We had a ridiculous amount of desserts to eat and they were all good (yes, I did sample them all!).Searching for Easter goodie bags. (We now know that plastic Easter eggs happen to be one of the millions of things that the U.K. has yet to discover!)But he didn't seem to mind what was on the outside so much as the candy that was on the inside!(PS - doesn't he look so grown up with his new haircut?? It's a little shorter than I wanted her to cut it but he still looks so cute and it grows so fast anyways. Our friend Andrew kept saying that he looked like the boy from Secondhand Lions - aaahhhh!!!)

Shorts!!
We have had the BEST weather here for the past few days and we are all loving it! A few days ago I put Justus in shorts for the first time since last summer and he was so excited that he just kept looking down at his legs and yelling, "SHORTS!" It was hilarious!
We have played outside pretty much non-stop for the past few days. One of the highlights for Jutus was painting with his watercolors. When I asked him what he was painting, he said, "a double rainbow." Ha ha!! (If you don't know what this is referring to, you are missing out. Watch this first, then this.)Piper was soaking up some sun in her swing on the porch. What a cutie :)More shorts. (Yes, he is still in his PJ's but don't judge me!)Yesterday Trav played in an Ultimate Frisbee game with some friends in the School of Divinity. We all went and watched and enjoyed being in the sunshine and not being cold!!!
There was no shortage of attention for Piper either! After the frisbee game we headed to the beach. By far, Justus' favorite place in the entire world. We got there, Trav rolled up his little shorts (which didn't matter because he walked in up to his waist anyways!), he picked up some rocks and headed straight for the waves so he could throw them in.Trav and I were talking about it in the car afterwards, and we both agreed that he could play at the beach from sunrise to sunset and he still would cry when we told him we had to leave.Piper didn't seem to mind the salty breeze either :)SO STINKIN' CUTE! Look at those white little legs!! We need more sunny days here!

Glasgow Science Center
We took a day trip to Glasgow earlier this week because we had to get our fingerprints taken for our visa renewals. The good part about this trip was 1) Nando's peri peri chicken for lunch (thanks, Hays, for introducing us!) and 2) the Glasgow Science Center. It was so much fun that we stayed for 3 hours and only left because it was closing time! Everything was hands-on and Justus ran from thing, to thing, to thing, to thing... It was so fun to watch him and follow him around :)One of my favorite parts was the "Alice in Wonderland" exhibit...rabbit holes, shrinking rooms, flamingo croquet - it was great!
Piper is going to look back at pictures of the first three months of her life and wonder if she ever did anything but sleep!
Justus' favorite part of the Wonderland exhibit was BY FAR the tea party!! Ha ha! He kept running back to this table over and over. (Side note: we spotted his long-lost younger brother there - dressed the same and everything!)
A room on its side...
Dressing up - this is actually a sailor hat but somehow it looks a little more feminine in the picture :)
Of course, when we ask what his favorite part of the Science Center was he says the trains! Ha! He has all this at home, little sucker.
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (or whatever this is supposed to be!)
Cutie :)

Kemback
There is a cute little village, just a mile or so from our house, called Kemback. And since we've had such nice weather lately, we decided to head over there and walk around. We found a few trails leading up into some hills above the town and had a fun time exploring the area...Trav noticed this huge tree that had fallen over right off the trail... it must have been some serious Scottish wind to knock that thing over! (It was only after we took this picture that we realized it maybe wasn't the smartest thing in the world to have Justus stand right underneath it!) We had a great view of the rolling green hills (and a church cemetery down at the bottom).Little cutie taking in the view...
On our way back down the trail... I hope we get lots more sunny days like this one!
